WEITZ GOLF INTERNATIONAL COMPLETES PRO KIDS GOLF ACADEMY PHASE II

TEMECULA, CA (November 2003) – Weitz Golf International has completed renovation of the 18-hole children's course at Pro Kids Golf Academy located in San Diego, California. Designed by Dave Fleming of Golf Properties Design, the renovation adds new excitement and interest to the 25-acre facility.

Situated in downtown San Diego, the Pro Kids Golf Academy is part of the LaColina Recreational Park facility. The Academy aims to transform young duffers into the pros of the future. To maintain the high interest of the children in the sport of golf and training at the Academy, the renovation work had to be completed within 90 days. All of the same processes necessary to construct a full-size adult course were performed by Weitz for the Pro Kids course renovation. This meant performing mass excavation, irrigation and drainage installation, lake construction, shaping and landscaping on an extremely tight and phased schedule with much of the work happening concurrently. At times during the project there were in excess of 100 workers performing tasks all at once.

This project was the third opportunity for Weitz Golf to work with Golf Properties Design. Opening ceremonies were held September 26, 2003 and revealed a new water feature at the clubhouse as well as Tour Turf, a new synthetic turf, installed at all of the tees.
