With actual construction commencing on May 15 of this year, the entire project, including lake, green, tee, bunker and fairway construction, as well as a complete irrigation renovation was completed in 105 days. The Breakers Hotel is a world class Mobil Five-Star, AAA five diamond resort located on the Atlantic Ocean in the heart of Palm Beach. The project was a total reconstruction of the course, and has resulted in a world-class golf experience for the resort's national and international guests. Built in 1897, "The Ocean Course" is the oldest 18-hole course in Florida. Brian Silva, Golf Course Architect (Cornish, Silva and Mungeam, Inc.) was the designer of this prestigious undertaking. Selected as the 1999 Golf World Architect of the Year, Mr. Silva's designs reflect the features and philosophies of the grand old architects whose numerous courses he has reworked over the years.
