This 18-hole Jack Nicklaus signature course is being constructed over lava and rock, requiring the import of over 300,000 CY of fill spread over the entire turf area. The site features panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and neighboring islands, and is scheduled for completion in February 2001. The Owner for the project is 1250 Oceanside Partners, Inc. and the Construction Manager is Kitchell Contractors of Kealakekua, Hawaii. Interestingly, sod and Bermuda stolens will be harvested from an on-site nursery that has been established by the owner providing an economic solution to the unique grassing requirements. Weitz Golf International is a wholly owned division of The Weitz Company, Inc, a respected construction company established in 1855. During their 145-year history, they have become well known for quality, cost, and schedule control. Weitz Golf International's offices are located in North Palm Beach, Florida and Temecula, California. For More Information, contact: Matt
