WEITZ GOLF ATTENDS WORLD'S LARGEST GOLF COURSE MANAGEMENT CONFERENCE & TRADE SHOW

Picture of the Weitz Golf booth at the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) 70th International Golf Course Conference and Show.ORLANDO, FL (February 1999) — Weitz Golf International was one of the exhibitors among 22,000-plus attendees at the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) 70th International Golf Course Conference and Show, Feb. 8 - 14 held here.

"Traffic at our booth was strong and steady," said Jim Koepnick, president of Weitz Golf. Most visitors were curious about the new golf course construction company that started last year. Koepnick continues, "They (trade show attendees) learned that though we were new to the golf industry, there was a solid foundation of 144 years of construction experience undergirding us. Weitz has never failed to complete a project, and that's important for the developer to know."

Located in the new exhibitor hall at the GCSAA show, the booth showcased the full scope of services Weitz Golf offers to developers and superintendents. A raffle was held in which Bob Richards from Pinehurst, North Carolina won a new briefcase.

The world's largest golf course management trade show, the event attracted a record 22,263 industry professionals, including golf course superintendents, golf operations directors, architects, builders, exhibiting companies and leaders from golf's allied associations (USGA, PGA TOUR, PGA of America, LPGA, etc.).

In 1998, a total of $7 billion was expended in golf course maintenance, management and construction projects.

Since 1926, GCSAA has been the leading professional association for the men and women who manage and maintain golf facilities in the United States and worldwide. From its headquarters in Kansas, the association provides education, information and representation to more than 19,000 individual members from more than 65 countries.
